Hall Tables
A collection of commissioned and sold Hall Tables
Hall Tables have been a popular part of my work for some time. Possibly because, apart from hallways and entrances they can grace many other rooms in a home or office. As well as being made from beautiful recycled timbers having a marquetry inlay makes them quite a unique piece of furniture. Here I have included a few of the hall tables that have been commissioned or sold at exhibitions.
The Whippie Hall Table. Top in northern Silky-oak (recycled window frames). Legs and drawer pull in reclaimed Southern Silky-oak.
Drawer detail, recycled Red Cedar and spalted Tuckeroo for the gum leaf.

The male Regent Bower Bird in ebony, yellow wood, Huon pine and Brown Penda.
Over the years my makers mark has developed into an inlaid gum leaf and is included in many of the things I create. In hall tables the leaf is often inlaid into the drawer bottom, the gum leaf here is Huon Pine and Camphor-laurel.

The Spinebill hall table was made for an exhibition in 2017 where it sold. The top was constructed entirely from old window frames. The stand was a favourite combination of northern and southern silky-oak.

The Yellow Robin Hall Table in recycled northern and southern Silky-oak

Contrasting timbers of the Yellow Robin Hall table.

A beautiful pair of tables in contrasting silky-oak. The male regent is in the darker recycled northern Silky. The female is in the lighter reclaimed southern Silky. These were constructed a little wider than the standard hall table to accommodate my client's large bird books.
The Female Regent Hall Table in reclaimed southern Silky-oak.

The Monkey Pod and Blackwood Hall table. This lovely little table started out as a wavy edged coffee table. The original coffee table was a present to my client from her late husband. Together with her daughter they commissioned me to turn it into a hall table. So it was done keeping part of the wavy edge and with some local reclaimed Blackwood from the daughters property it turned out a treat.
